Hands-on with the Lenovo IdeaPad S10e netbook

Review by Julian Prokaza on Mon 26 January 2009

Lenovo IdeaPad S10eWe’ve been waiting for the Lenovo IdeaPad S10e netbook to turn up at the Mobile Computer office for a while, but it has now finally arrived. So far, we’re not quite sure it was worth the wait – we like its plain, understated design, but we were hoping for something more.

We’ll gather our thoughts about the Lenovo IdeaPad S10e over the next couple of days before we publish out full review. Until then, here’s our hands-on video that gives our first impressions of this netbook.

There are two Lenovo IdeaPad S10e models, both with the usual netbook specification of Intel Atom N270 processor, 1Gb RAM and 10.1in (1024 x 758) screen. Both have 3-cell batteries and both have (unusually for a netbook) an ExpressCard/24 slot. The SUSE Linux Enterprise 10 model has an 80Gb hard drive, and costs £270 inc VAT; the Windows XP Home model has a 160Gb hard disk and costs £299 inc VAT.
