Hands-on with the LG X110 netbook

Netbook reviews get easier with each new model. With manufacturers all playing copycat when it comes to specifications, there isn’t much to say beyond commenting on what a new netbook looks like and how long it lasts on battery power.

That’s certainly the case with the LG X110. Not only does it have the same specification as every other netbook we’ve seen, it’s actually just a rebadged MSI Wind U100. But hold on a minute – there is one subtle difference in the shape of a SIM card slot tucked behind the battery. Yes, this is only the second netbook to be launched in the UK with a built-in 3G modem – here’s our first impressions video.

We don’t have a confirmed price for the LG X110, but when we reported on its launch back in August, £320 inc VAT was being bandied about. The original press release also mentioned Phones4U as the initial UK reseller, which suggests that the netbook will be sold as part of a mobile broadband deal. Again, we’ll hopefully confirm this for the full review.

Looks fine, the keys feels some spongy, there is a Lanix LT 10, is similar, same processor, same display, but i prefer the LG not by the price, but the prestige.

got this as a present from hong kong and brought it home to canada. works wonders.

the camera is amazing, the mic is also amazing. the keyboard surprisingly enough, only took me two days to get used to. ive read that people didnt like the touchpad but i find it just fine. its very fast, very convenient. and its pretty too!

only complaints are that there is no optical drive but thats expected of such a small laptop, the sound system isnt so good even though its supposed to be surround sound, and the battery is difficult to remove.

i havent tried the 3g component yet but will soon.

costs about $500 US here in Saudi Arabia with WinXP SP3. 1GM RAM & 160GB HD.

3G is great, worked straight away. Speakers are 4 out of 10 and batter life with 3G connection is about 90 minutes.

really happy with this one. my previous laptop was 11.1" sony which cost like 5 times this one, 3 years ago
