Moto's 'higher end' Android phone Print E-mail
By Nick Mansell on Monday, 20 October 2008

Motorola Krave ZN4We've already reported that Motorola is looking to launch a social networking centric Android phone, but now BuinessWeek believes it has laid its hands on some more details. According to its sources, the Moto Android phone will have a slide-out keyboard, like the T-Mobile G1, but will compete with the iPhone more aggressively with a larger screen and a 'higher end' finish. Read on for the deets.

According to the report, the handset will get its style cues from the newly launched Krave ZN4 (pictured), which débuted in the States this month on Verizon. That phone features a clamshell design, reminiscent of an oversized V50 Wings, with a touchscreen where the keypad normally lies and a large display on the outside - although the article does state that Moto Android (or should that be NDRD?) won't necessarily be a clamshell.

Interestingly, BusinessWeek also says the phone will be cheaper than the G1. It has it pegged for a launch in the second quarter of 2009. Let's hope Motorola hasn't left this one too late.
