Garmin Nuvifone moves (a little) closer

Garmin NuvifoneDespite still being months off launch Garmin's Nuvifone has made another, if only fleeting, appearance, this time at IFA. And this time there was a sliver of good news. After last month's revelation that it could be delayed till 'the first half' of next year, Garmin reps are now saying it should be making an appearance in 'Q1 2009'.

 In other words, it could be here any time from January to the end of March, which narrows the field of possible launch dates slightly. It's still well behind the oiriginal October to December 2008 launch date. Hopefully Garmin's answer to the iPhone 3G won't look too out of date by then.
