Run Palm OS applications on a Nokia N810 Internet Tablet

By Julian Prokaza on Wed 14 November 2007

Garnet emulatorStyleTap already does a bang-up job of running Palm OS software on Windows Mobile and now you can do the same with a Nokia Internet Tablet. Garnet VM Beta is a Palm OS emulator for N770, N800 and N810 handhelds and this isn't some clever third-party hack - it's from Access, the company that bought the Palm software division, PalmSource, in 2005.

Garnet VM is a free download that comes with the standard Palm OS set of applications and supports Graffiti, networking and HotSync. We haven't had the chance to try the emulator out yet (look out for a How to guide soon), but Access reckons that it currently offers around 80% compatibility. That means you can run around 30,000 Palm OS applications and Access is inviting users to validate more via its compatibility survey.
